Saying what you mean is an enormous task

Meaning of Preposition

Prepositions tell us where or when something is related to something else. It’s nice to have a special word that tells us where some ladies are as they’re approaching. Are they behind us or in front of us? Will they arrive in three minutes or will they arrive at dawn? Often, prepositions tell us where one noun is related to another (for example, the coffee is next to the milk on the table).
But it can also suggest more abstract ideas such as purpose and contrast (Example: We went for a walk even though it was raining).
