A Brief History of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Ahmadu Bello University is located in Zaria, Nigeria. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Africa. Its history dates back to the colonial era when Nigeria was under British rule.

Why the Name, Ahmadu Bello University?

The university is named after Sir Ahmadu Bello. He was the Sardauna of Sokoto – who was a prominent Northern Nigerian leader and the first Premier of the Northern Region. Sir Ahmadu Bello was a key figure in Nigeria’s struggle for independence and played a significant role in shaping the country’s political landscape.

ABU, Zaria was Institute of Higher Learning (IHL)

In 1955, as part of the effort to increase access to higher education in Northern Nigeria, the Nigerian government established the Institute of Higher Education in Zaria, which later evolved into Ahmadu Bello University. The university’s primary aim was to provide quality education and develop skilled professionals to meet the region’s needs.

The Year of Inauguration of Ahmadu Bello University

In October 1962, the university was formally inaugurated and began offering its first set of undergraduate programs. Initially, it started with four faculties: Agriculture, Engineering, Law, and Science. Over the years, the university expanded its academic offerings and established additional faculties, including Medicine, Arts, Social Sciences, Education, and Administration.

When is ABU ABU Post-UTME/DE Screening 2023/2024 Closing?

It is more important to note that you must register between July 18th and August 18th, 2023 registration to enroll in screening exercises.

General Cut-Off Mark at Ahmadu Bello University Post-UTME/DE Screening 2023/2024

Only candidates with a UTME score of 180 or above are eligible to register for the examination, and direct entry candidates only need to register by paying the examination fee. Failure to achieve this, you can not pick up the ABU Post-UTME/DE Screening 2023/2024 form.

To register for ABU Post-UTME/DE Screening 2023/2024 Form, candidates should visit https://portal.abu.edu.ng/forms to register or go through her UTME registration in 2022/2023 on Ahmadu’s Bello University website. Click http://abu.edu.ng.

Price for Post-UTME/DE Screening 2023/2024 Form

Applicants need to pay a registration fee of 2,000 Naira (two thousand naira only) for their examination. The payment can be made through REMITA using the Point of Sale (POS) option at a designated office on campus, online payment, or by printing a REMITA RETRIEVAL REFERENCE (RRR) slip and submitting it to the bank. Candidates do not have to visit Zaria for the payment. The schedule for candidate selection is available for the years 2022/2023 and 2023/2024.
